What is Metta?
Metta is a term that refers to one of the 10 perfections of Buddhism and is the first of the four Buddhist virtues, or "immeasurables." It can be translated as "benevolence," "loving," "friendship" or "kindness."
Mettaobject’s mission is to inspire and to encourage mindful and creative lifestyle.
The Mettaobject project was originated by Justin Tsui back in 2002 in London, where he designed invisible diary and wish gardenprototype as part of the postgraduate project in Central Saint Martin’s (University of Arts London).
Since then, Mettaobject become a life long project where Justin continue to experiment ideas and to pursuit his mission to make life beautiful, enjoyable and meaningful..

Brand Mission and Purpose
The 2002 project used the brand name Metaobject, as in Metaphysic Objects design, meaning beyonds the physical object itself.
Over the years, the metaobject name was used in some programming language, and it not necessary reflect the best intend of the brand purpose and mission.
Beginning 2020, Justin decided to a brand revamp and rename it “Mettaobject”, it keeps the original concept and added a “t” in “Metta“. In ancient Pali language, Metta means benevolence, loving-kindness, friendliness, amity, good will, and active interest in others.
Mettaobject is designed to inspire self-awareness and growth which Justin believe will ultimately lead to loving of others and a better world for good.
Metta’s meaning fits perfectly with Mettaobject’s mission and brand purpose, thus a great name to own.
Below you will find the update design of Mettaobject logo.
The Metta & Object are separated deliberately to remind there are a lot more beyond the objects the brand offer.
The “Metta” is what make the brand meaningful, and it encourage users and audience to look beyond the surface of the product itself. It is connected by the flying bubble dot at the top right corner.
